hey,
i changed out the fuel filter just this weekend. this is what i did:
1. place rear wheels on car ramps. rhino ramps work well for cars with low lying front air dams.
2. the fuel filter is secured with a clamp and a bolt on the underside of the car near the passenger side rocker panel to the rear of the car.
3. the filter is connected by two identical compressible rubber fittings on the inlet and outlet. place the open end of the 17 mm wrench between the housing of the filter and the rubber fitting. you can then gently pry the fitting away from the filter. be sure to wrap the housing with a shop rag to prevent getting sprayed with pressurized gas which stops by itself.
4. repeat step #3 for the second fitting
5. unclamp the old fuel filter and install the new one. remember that the fuel filter should be oriented so that the direction of flow is to the front of the car.
6. reinstall both compressible rubber fittings by simply pressing them back on the inlet and outlet tubes of the new fuel filter. no tools are needed for this.
7. start car and inspect for leaks. the car may crank a few times before starting because it has to repressurize the fuel line.
that's all there is to it. the whole process took me about 10 min from beginning to end. hope this helps.
