Correct the dealer can, for a price.

if you get the vida unit this will all make more sense. but as far as "pirate" device users, we can look at the modules. read codes. read live date (priceless) activate certain things on each module but to alter ANYTHING on any of the modules be it DRL, or how many times the turn signal blinks when you lightly touch the stalk but not click over, to upgrading stereo etc etc. in other words uploading new software. only the dealers can do that. it used to be allowed that anyone could buy a 3 day subscription to the software and then buy the software upgrade you need. but last i looked into it they are blocking the cloned units from the subscription. still totally worth it in my opinion. it has payed itself over and over
