Cruise Control

I just had a similar problem with my S70. The cruise control quit working all together and the vacuum line under the battery tray had several holes in it from battery acid.

As a temporary fix, I patched the holes by wrapping the vacuum line with electrical tape. Cruise works fine now. I just need to pick up some vacuum line at some point and make the fix permanent.

I'm not sure if this applies to your 850, but here how to access the vacuum line: Disconnect and remove the battery from the car. Remove the battery tray. Under the battery tray is the vacuum line going to the cruise control pump (my pump was mounted to the underside of the battery tray - there has to be a better place for it!). Run your fingers along the vacuum line and seal up (or replace) any holes.

Good luck!
