2012 XC60R

2012 came with a 50,000 mile/5 year wear and tear warranty.

Find out if it is still in force.

Have the car checked out by a dealer now and before the warranty expires. I think that it can be extended for 3 years (not wear and tear).

The warranty is worth several thousand dollars.

In 2012 we test drove a XC60 for a day, and a XC70 for a day. Their interiors are almost identical.

The 60 was a turbo, the 70 a NA.

Compared to the 70, we thought that the 60 pitched around on bumps much more than the 70 and the turbo was touchy ( I had to lock it in first or second to drive smoothly around parking lots ) and had little engine braking - my wife almost drove off a highway exit because the 60 did not slow down as she expected.

If you and your wife are in a hurry, get a turbo 60.

We are completely happy with our 70.

Nothing can really replace our '96 855R, but the XC70 goes pretty well.
