855 Roof Trim 850 1996

On my departed '95 855T I took a razor to what was left of the peeling plastic coating, masked off the strips and the top of the car, hood, mirrors and upper front fenders with painters tape and newspaper, then sprayed them black. The paint did not like the aluminum surface and left a few small bubbles but from 5 feet away you won't notice. Looked very good for about five years before I sold the car.

One warning. Make sure NO overspray from the rattlecan reaches your car's paint. Not just because of color (car was dark green and didn't notice any black overspray) but because of the chemicals in the rattlecan paint. There was a spot in the middle of my roof that was exposed and after a few years the sun clouded the car's paint where the Krylon mist contacted it. A nice square patch that wasn't protected by newspaper.
