New to me 855 Wagon update - heavy brake pedal 850

Ok, finally have the car on the road after all the work done and have a tag so I can officially start shaking down the car and noticed a heavy brake pedal that gets real heavy during quick multiple brake applications. The booster is working as I can feel the brake pedal relax when my foot is
on the pedal when I start the car. I looked under the air box for the so called flattened vac line and didn't see anything. This car was sitting for about 10 months before I got the car. I noticed that the left front caliper had rust on the piston and it's boot was dislodged partially. Wondering if the Pistons are rusted on the front causing hard braking effort. Any other ideas? Need to flush the brake system for sure once I resolve this issue.
