another creaking headliner????? S40-V40 2000

having just received a call from my Volvo dealer that the parts are in for my headlight fix (thank you, Fred!) I thought, fantastic....the last Gremlin fixed, and all is well at 37k! But last night, with no previous hint of a problem....I started hearing sharp cracking/creaking noises coming from the head liner just above the top of the windshield.....In the past couple of weeks I saw some posts about this...and didn't bother to read about because I had no noise issue...........until now! My reaction was Ok, it winter, its below freezing, I must have some ice build-up in side the roof, that somehow got throught the windshield seal........? This seems crazy and I had no symptoms last winter, so any ideas.....thanks in advance, Bill
