2000 V70 rear side door seal replacement 2000

I need to replace the rear side door seal on my 2000 V70-- it ripped because of a poorly fitting set of roof load bars (S70 bars don't fit V70s). I grabbed a seal the last time I was at the local pick-and-pull, but while removing it virtually every clip broke.

Is there a trick to getting these clips out? I also picked up Euro roof rails at the pick-and-pull, and as soon as I can find the right load bars for a decent price I will install them, then replace the seal.
