So, no schrader valve at the opposite end of the fuel rail??? I wonder where you would connect a pressure gauge if you needed to test the pressure.

I would just let the car sit for a couple hours - maybe overnight if you have the time - and then hold a rag over the sensor as you pull it out.

You might find it helpful to park the car at a tilt away from the sensor, or jack it up on the sensor side, so that when you pull the sensor out you don't have the entire fuel rail draining out. That would also mean less trapped air to work out through the injectors when you fire it back up.
