Interior lights not always working... S70 1998

First, try the passenger side door. If the lights always come on, then it is not the relay.

There is a micro switch in the door, just below the lock. Look for it, a piece of black metal that you can shove toward the outside of the door. After moving it, the lights should go out (20 seconds or so). To disengage the switch, pull on the door handle. You might want to spray some grease or silicone on the switch to make it move easier. Shove the switch and pull on the door handle multiple times after lubing it.
