S70 ac compressor not engaging S70

Hi experts...I have a 99 s70 base orig owner...I love this car...

My ac compressor is not engaging. I added some 134a to the system, and the clutch still would not engage. I pulled the cap off the ac compressor relay and manually closed the contacts, and the clutch immediately engaged.

I examined the relay and could find no obvious visual issues. My assumption at this point, though, is a bad relay.

My question is: is the relay the obvious problem - or - could there be some other issue impacting the relay control?

As I've read the relevant threads, the low press switch could also cause problems with the compressor...if so, how do you troubleshoot that switch? Is it simply disconnecting the fitting and jumping the contact with wire?
