Fuel pump relay? Pump? Fuse? V70-XC70

I was driving my V70 (220K miles!) home last night, and it sputtered and stalled. It turns over fine, but won't run. Had it towed home. I had a spare fuel pump relay and I have another V70, so I tried the spare and then the one from the V70 that's running. No luck, and when I turn the key to POS II, there is no "whine" like what I hear from the running car. So it seems the relay is not the issue. Would it be the pump? Is there a fuse for the relay I can check? finally, if it's the pump, is that a DIY job for a brakes-and-oil change level guy like me?
