No start (no fuel?) V70-XC70 2003

The 2003 has a fuel pump control module, is that what you refer to as a relay? If the pump module fails, it will store an error code. If the fuel pump itself fails, there is no error code - just like running out of gas.

I have found that fuel pumps seldom fail while the car is running down the road. You were lucky that it failed at home and not many miles away.

Yes, the pumps are a pain to replace, but much better than the 1998-2000 models which called for dropping the rear subframe and tank or cutting holes in the body.

Keeping it running is better than buying new
