Loss of power V70-XC70 2004

V70 non turbo180,000 and perfectly reliable. Put my snows on and next thing I now the ABS light is on, no problem says my mechanic just a sensor, ok. Today leaving the parking lot at lunch brief flash of the STC indicator light, then off and everything seems fine. Leaving same parking lot after work STC light goes on and at the same time I lost all power. Engine never hiccuped, just no power. Was pulling over when it gained momentum and all was good. 7 miles to home no problem. It's got me freaked out! I have a 5 hour trip to make next week and don't trust this won't happen on highway. Any ideas?
