back to my heater S60 2006

Hi All
This carries over from my previous post about my heater staying on , on the rhs only
i have been busy and unable to address the issue
it is my sons car which i drove yesterday and noticed that now both sides stay on boiling hot irrespective of a/c on/off and vents open or close( i assume the floor flaps must be open)
i also noticed that the clock has disappeared again despite having only been reset last week ( dim going south i thought ). the tacho needle remains steady though
Could these issues be connected
and i read your suggestion Klaus to another member re his battery
which is interesting because the battery in this car is not the best
11.2 volts iirc and it turns over slowly when cranked but i havent checked the cranking voltage yet
so could the battery condition be the cause of my issues or any other suggestion welcomed

Thanks for listening
David
