Lookign at 2000 V70R V70-XC70 2000

All,

As I posted several months ago, I was able to purchase a one-owner 2000 NA V70 with the (relatively) rare M56 5-speed manual for $1400. It now has 123k miles and has not given me a lick of trouble thus far. All I've done to it are oil changes, tire replacement and an alignment.

However, I am now feeling the need to add a V70R to the collection, but it has to be a P80 version as I don't like the P2 generation. I'm going to look at a prospective candidate this weekend. It is a 2000 R wagon, and is silver with black interior, just like my NA car. It's a two-owner car with 158k miles and has been serviced by a reputable independent Volvo shop. Asking price is $3500.

I've not owned a P80 R wagon before so I'll need some tips and advice on how to go about purchasing this car if I decided to bite the bullet. What are the good points and bad points about owning an R?
