2006 v70 - foot well light stay on - also alarm sounded V70-XC70

I have been working on my windshield washer reservoir so took off the bumper trim/ Then I noticed that I cannot turn off foot well interior lights. It was late so I just pulled out the bulbs. Is there a manual switch that would allow me to turn them off?

Also when I slammed the door the alarm sounded.

Also- I bought this used. Do have a a real "break in" alarm (burglar detection) or just the kind of alarm set off by the key fob? How do I tell? I do have the blinking red light on the dash which I have always just ignored.

All weird.

Any ideas? I am thinking of pulling the fuse for the alarm as I don't need it. Any problems with that?

Is there a chance I accidentally set this car to some kind of protection mode that I am unaware of?
