Prop shaft V70-XC70 2004

My 2004 v70 awd has a dud awd system.
I would prefer to eliminate the prop shaft to the rear end, can I just remove the shaft..
Or does it require any blocking plates,
Will any fluids leak?
I believe the haldex is worn out at 200k miles. There is fluid on the bottom of the haldex.
Anyway, can I just pull the main shaft without further proceedures?
