2003 S40 Passenger Side Headlight Removal and Replacement S40-V40

I'll assume you are referring to the right side of the car.
Replacement is simple. I just had to replace the rt. headlight on my '01 S40.
Shouldn't take you more than 10 minutes.

Open hood.
Loosen the screw that holds the signal light assembly two turns. This is a vertical screw.
Slide the signal light assembly forward and let it dangle.
Access (from the signal light area) and remove the two 10mm nuts from the side of the headlight assembly.
Remove the two 10mm nuts from the rear side of the headlight assembly that go through the radiator support.
Wiggle the headlight assembly off the car. You may have to push down or pull up on the bumper cover to have it come out.

It's really a piece of cake.
