2007 heater fan and resistor/control module XC90 2007

Thanks Klaus. I always find your insight valuable. Fuses check out OK. Heat is present when vehicle is moving, I assume with the outside vent open (i.e. not just circulating cabin air). As I said before I am trying to help my son long distance on this one. I am in SE CT and he in upstate MA.
Anyway, more and more things lead/lean toward the fan being frozen or the resistor is bad.
He spent time on it yesterday and agrees that forth screw is next to impossible if not impossible. Again, is breaking off the lug the only answer short of pulling the dash. And, if that is the case, what is the trick/method to snap the lug without shattering or cracking the case? We both continue to study the video but more input and ideals from those who have been there is necessary and appreciated.
Thanks again.
