2007 heater fan and resistor/control module XC90 2007

Thanks for the additional comment. We are resigned to trying to snap off the lug. It makes sense that if you could get in there to cut or something like that you should/would be able to get to the bolt. Looking at replacements on RockAuto and other sites it does appear the third lug is not very far from the one you snap off so I can see that you should be able to get a tight fit and good seal with only three. In fact I believe several vehicles I have worked the heater motor on in the past only had three spaced about 120 degrees apart.
Current plan is to snap off lug and replace both blower and the resistor.
