Honest mechanic needed (San Diego area) S60

My sister bought her son an 07 S60 recently. Neither her nor my nephew know jack squat about cars.

They bought the car without knowing if the timing belt was changed (and there was no sticker indicating it had been changed). Also the transmission felt "rough" on the drive home from buying it.

I suggested they take it to a mechanic and have him (or her) check it out.
So they've asked me for some advice (I own an 850). While I think I can handle a fair amount of the issues, I can't help with finding them a mechanic.

Do any of you (who live in the San Diego/Poway area) have any trustworthy mechanics that you don't mind sharing?

Thanks in advance.
