heater only half working S80 2010

This is the owner's latest run-in with local Volvo service people in his area over this heater issue. Does any of this make any sense to you? You can sense his frustration with the garage people.

The expense continues. They are trying troubleshooting with the technical staff back east to try and get the module to work. Currently the flapper is only opening the duct to the drivers side he says but if so why is it blowing AC air to the passenger side?

I told them enough was enough. If they don't have it fixed by noon tomorrow they will put it back together and I will receive the car functioning basically the same as when I dropped it off.

He tried to pawn off the upside that my fan would now be quiet but that is little consolation if next winter comes and I am still cold. I only asked for the fan to be replaced as an aside. That issue was secondary and I was 50% committed to doing it.

Very disappointing. The original quote including tranny fluid and oil change was $3200. I am sure I will be gritting my teeth hard tomorrow when he tells me how much more it will cost me for him to buy a special tool and try to learn how to troubleshoot the module that he charged me to get rebuilt.
