Factory Navigation installation... V70-XC70 2007

In a word, SLOW.

But that's ok!

I've sourced the following parts:
- Rear DVD Player,
- Front Head unit, though I think what I have will work just fine,
- GPS antenna,
- Steering wheel buttons,

I could have gotten the rest, but the LCD plastic frame was broken, and it was the wrong color, so I opted not to purchase it.

I've also found and printed out an installation manual, for my car, which has clued me into where things go and the like.

Since I'm putting this into a wagon, I still need the rear cargo area portion that will house the DVD player as it has a slot in it so that you can access it. If push comes to shove, I'll just mill the hole and call it done.

I may pull the plastic area this weekend in the rear just to check on wiring, though I know it is already there from my exploratory into the dash area revealed that the wiring was there intact. When I do find a wagon, I may just grab the steering wheel as well since it already has the hole cut for the buttons, though I feel pretty confident that I could cut the correct hole to make it fit correctly. Oh yeah, still looking for the remote control as well.

So there you have it. I'll still have to go to the stealership to have them enable it, but hey, that will be cheaper than having them install the whole thing from new.

Any questions, please ask.

Matt
