complete shutdown of electrical system while driving, goes into limp mode V70-XC70 2004

I had this same problem a couple of months ago. My mechanic replaced the ignition module but now had the problem again. Car begins to jerk while driving at high speed. All electrical systems shut down-dash, all lights, everything. Also get a message BRAKE FAILURE-STOP SAFELY?? This is an extremely dangerous situation for myself and my 19 year old daughter! This car has been a nightmare with one problem after another. I really miss my 1994 940. Any help would be appreciated.
