Fuel pump module XC90

Ok, so the fuel pump control module in question is located in the passenger side rear wheel well. I posted this question for a friend/co-worker who recently purchased a nice looking, 05 XC90, 4.4 non turbo from a salvage yard. Apparently, the vehicle ran but would quit intermittently. Looks like the previous owner became frustrated with the vehicle and decided to part ways. When scanned the vehicle gives up a p0089 code. My friend has replaced the fuel pump as well as the control module that I inquired about for him. The vehicle will not start for him at all, at the moment. From what he tells me, I believe that there is no voltage present at the pump itself. Any thoughts?
