Braking issues V70-XC70

You said you changed the brake fluid, DOT4 ?
Did you bleed each brake cylinder and ever get a good peddle?

If you can't get a good peddle then you may have a problem with the Master Cylinder. My old 740 M/C required bench bleeding and I got good at it
replacing rebuilt M/Cs several times. Others may chime in with suggestions for
the V70.

I can suggest that you avoid rebuilt master cylinders if you decide
to swap it out. They are not rebuilt right if the cylinder bore is pitted and they just install new seals. I suppose that's why the ones I had were junk.
