2004 xc90 T6 thermostat housing XC90

Hello everyone,

I need to replace the coolant temperature sensor and thermostat on my XC90 with 2.9L. I have watched you tube videos where upon removal,the plastic nipple on the thermostat housing will eventually break and this part is not sold separately.
The thermostat housing from a S80 do not have a plastic nipple with the hose going to the coolant reservoir like the xc90 do. To my understanding this part is for bleeding purposes only.
I am thinking of replacing the S80 thermostat housing in the xc90 and would like to know your opinion?
