Two different transmission designs and applications. XC70 uses JWS3309 spec ATF (Volvo, Aisin, Mobil 1 3309, Toyota IV). S70 uses Dexron lll The two ATFs are not compatible. Stick with what the owner’s manual recommends for best results. In extreme cases, using incorrect ATF will damage a transmission.
