No or Slow Crank with Hot Engine V70-XC70 2000

Starters can suffer from - heat soak - which causes them not to operate.

To check for heat soak, pour cold water on the starter to cool it off the next time the problem occurs. If you can then start the car, this is your problem.

You may need to make up a funnel and hose to cool the starter.

I think that this problem has been discussed in the RWD section a number of times.
