You never gave a reason for the brake module removal. What is the error message?

If your car has DTSC, there will be a button for it on the dash (on or off).

Nothing should be attached to the firewall. The wiring harness for the brake pressure controller has a cover that gets pried up, not off, and has 3 fragile plastic clips.

Xemodex.com may be able to help with the electronics. If the error is due to the pressure switch, you might want to find a replacement at a salvage yard to play with.
