I have no such experience but have seen the Delphi name all my life and have never heard the name disparaged over years of "trouble site" reading.

Someone will be along to scold you for not going to a junkyard and fetching a real Volvo one but at your car's age the thought of buying one which has been out in the rain and snow for years isn't attractive.

You'll see how long the Delphi unit lasts.

Regarding your air pump: Did you did address the air check valve against the firewall? If it fails, moisture laden exhaust gas backs up into your air pump. The water condenses, collects and kills the electronics which I've read is on the bottom of the box.

One tip was to drill a small (3/16") hole in the output air hose boss. The fan can more than keep up and it sprays the water out.
