08 XC 70 Key issue

Sounds like a frozen/stuck tumbler preventing the mechanical key from working. If the key turns in the lock and the door does not unlock, I suspect that the connector rod from the door handle to the box inside the door is not connected properly.

Did I mention that I dislike remotes? And that bogus 'key'.
