Welcome to the new world where computers control everything, even when they really don't need to.

ALL of your computers are interconnected, whether it is needed or not. Yes, the HU and the CCU should not be related, but they are! Look at the controls for both units. I suspect that they intertwine somewhere.

As for the door latch, insist on getting the recall as it is not safe.
