S40 blew oil cap off S40-V40 2005

Oil was up to level when I got to the car so I would suspect damage happened after that. other than it did sound a little off when I cranked it over plus the missing.

I guess at this point it can't hurt to pull the head and be sure of the diagnosis.

Once I do that I should expect to see substantial scoring on the cylinder walls right?
