CEL, rough running, 'reduce speed or shift up.' 125,000 miles XC60 2015

"Green" rings in the 2015/16 engines? The entire Volvo owner's community is sorry for your loss. You should at least send an email to Volvo USA, letting them know about the oil consumption and the loss of compression. They need to be reminded that engine failures drive away even loyal customers.

And, you are correct. Volvo mechanics cannot/will not repair an engine. They are only taught to remove and replace parts, including remanned (by a third party) engines and trannies. The dealer prices the engine as a 'new' part, when it is not. Hmmm, I wonder if the engine qualifies for lifetime, like parts from the parts department??
