Take the panel off the other side, you might see how you can take the offending side apart.

I had a similar issue with a 740 - With the knowledge gained, I got the panel off.

Worst case, you might have to force some of the panel off, with damage. Perhaps even a long pry bar! Or cutting across the panel as low as needed To gain access to open the door.

Then you could repair the damaged panel (even a Mickey Mouse job ) or get another panel from one of the used parts sellers.

Your baby IS 17 years old.
