S40 Control Arm size - 18mm or 15mm ??? S40-V40

2006 Volvo S40 2.4i . Front passenger side control arm . Seems this comes in 2 different sizes . 15mm & 18mm . Which do i want ?? Was told either would work . Not so sure about that . If I have to measure then what do I measure ?? The socket size that goes to studs nut(which is an 18mm socket) ?? Or studs diameter(which is ~ 16mm)?? Not sure why but 18mm arm is about $50 more .
