Any suggestions on how to secure heat insulation by exhaust manifold? 850 2016

Hello All,

I have a 1996 850 GLT wagon (5 speed manual with 433,000 miles). There is an aluminium clad heat shield material that is attached to the firewall that is adjacent or just opposite the exhaust manifold/flex pipe. This heat shield has torn/separated and now rests gently against the exhaust manifold/flex pipe. I have tried taping it back into place and have tired gluing it back into place to no avail. Each time, due to the excessive engine heat I suspect, the heat shield comes loose and falls against the exhaust manifold/flex pipe. It doesn't hurt the engine, cause noise, or affect the driveability of my 850. However, esthetically, it bothers me. I suspect I am not the only person with an old 850 suffering this dilemma, so I would welcome any suggestions of how I could go about securing this heat shield so it stays in place. Thank you to all who respond.

Hugh
