Hello All,
I have a 1996 850 GLT wagon. This morning after a heavy rain I noticed water dripping into the car on the inside of the window (which was all the way up) of the driver's side door. It is right at the top of the window, where it bends downward that the water is getting in. I examined the weather stripping and I noticed a gap between it and the second round weather stripping seal the runs the length of the door opening. The gap doesn't run the whole length of the upper and outside seal. It is just in the upper left corner before the glass (facing the door from the outside) bends downward. The rest of the exterior weather stripping is firming placed against the door opening and there is no water leaking in. I assume the outside weather stripping has "settled" after years of opening and closing. I see two options:
1) Adjuster the door striker so the door closes more tightly?
2) Insert some cord in the upper portion of the outside weather stripping, so it forces it to close more tightly.
I would like to hear any other suggestions to address this problem. I'm sure I'm not the first person to experience. Thanks to all who respond.
Hugh
