The metal flap on the driver's door handle where the key goes in no longer closes. What to do? 850

Hugh - I am glad that you found someone to repair the flap.

Our first Volvo was a used 745 GLE - I had never used the key lock on the tailgate until a few months had passed.

I found that the flap on that lock was open - I could not even get the key in the lock.

When I removed the lock assembly, it was corroded solid.

I left the lock guts out and epoxied a penny over the slot!

My daughter was wildlife student and during 6 summers she drove Celeste from Massachusetts all over the country - Edmonton Alberta twice, Saskchewan, north Carolina, Lake placid, etc.

When she was done in Edmonton the second time, her sister joined her in Spokane - the car was so full she had to mail two boxes bach home so that her sister could fit in the car. The then went down the west coast, and returned home through Colorado.
