Steering Rack Fluid - Will Any ATF Do? S40-V40

Hello again, I asked the group a while back about a leak in my steering rack when I was looking for alternatives to replacing the rack. I had used some Barr's additives for stopping steering rack leaks, and they worked for a time. Sort of.

I eventually broke down and had the rack replaced and things are wonderful now, but I need to top up the Power Steering fluid reservoir.

Question: Owner's Manual says to use ATF in the Power Steering reservoir, will any ATF be okay? How about a Valvoline product that is marketed as "Transmission Stop Leak"? Do you know if that would be suitable? It is an ATF but with other properties.

I need to top up the reservoir but don't want to put something in there that is not appropriate.

Feedback? Ideas? Caveats? Witticisms?

Thanks, Doug
