Turbo V70-XC70

As I recall the 80's era turbos had that recommendation. After high speed or spirted acceleration, the turbo would be spinning at a very high RPM. If the engine was immediately shut down oil to the turbo bearings stopped flowing and potentially the bearings could be damaged as they spooled down. I think the newer turbos have corrected that potential issue, but it doesn't hurt to idle a bit after a open throttle run.
