Cranks won’t start XC90

Hi Kyle,

I don't have info or experience with the XC90 but do have some ideas.

Don't you have a valve at the fuel rail to check for fuel pressure?
Make sure you have fuel pressure at the rail.

Get the OBD codes.
Maybe you can talk some parts store into loaning out their reader.
Leave collateral, maybe a credit card if you have to.
Maybe you can buy one and return it if it doesn't work.
You're out in left field without a reader.

The CPS is the heart of engine management. You can disconnect the CPS
and look for a coil at pins 1 & 2 in the 850 it should be 260-340 ohms
Pin 3 is ground. Make sure it's not shorted to pin 1 or 2
Carefully inspect the connector and use Penetrox-A on reassembly.

You can try disconnecting your battery for 10 seconds which should clear ECU memory. This is a long shot but resetting the ECU's has solved a no-start with my 940. Somehow the ECU's got corrupted, perhaps with RFI?
Rebooting the ECU's made a difference.

Best luck, Bill

It's easy enough to try to see if you can start again.
