Aspect ratio of tires on a 2016 V60 - I went from 235/40 to 235/45 - manual shows it can be used

We do have speed cameras in areas that I drive. I also believe in not being a hazard in the road by going a lot slower than the flow of traffic. One place around Baltimore Maryland is a 5 lane highway (10 total) and the speed limit is 55 MPH. Does anyone do 55 MPH? No they do not, and there are speed cameras. The speed at times drops to 45 MPH. Does anyone do 45 MPH? No they do not. So I try to keep some sanity and keep up with the flow although not the crazy lane fast flow. The cameras will click on you at 61 MPH and I will tow the line and not go over 61 MPH. That 2 MPH difference would mean the difference between a camera click and going by without a click. So I have to remember to keep it at 59 MPH while going past the camera.

I stopped by the dealer today and talked to the guy that sold me the car. He looked at his computer and it definitely said two tires recommended, 235/40/18 and 235/45/18. Ok - so if it says either then the service bay has the ability to tweak the update for either tire. He said he'll look into it.

He asked if I bought the tires from them. No I did not. The he said maybe that's why they don't want to do it. Well if I am forced to use a dealer (VIDA software) then I think they should be forced to do what is right and do the work I am offering to pay them to do.

I do not get along with their service department, not one bit. There's an independent shop I use when I can and have no problems with them. They are a reasonable price, nice people and do good work. A VIDA subscription is $15,000 a year. I do know an independent Volvo shop that will buy a three day subscription and do the work but they want to make sure that it can be done first. I'll have to pay for the 3 day subscription and the labor.

It's a car, the dealer is there to work on Volvo cars, why create all the stress! Ugh!!!!!

Tomorrow I'll call a dealer that is 1.5 hours away and ask for a price on the 235/45/18 tires. Then I will ask how much to synchronize those new tires with a computer update. If they give a price, that means it can be done.
