Whatever it is that you are using to make the picture should have come with a program for manipulating pictures. Try reducing the "quality" to low. Or try converting it to a gif and see if that still looks good and is smaller.

This is one of those things that's hard to describe. I don't know what tools you have, and even if I did I probably don't have the same ones.

You might want to look for a how-to type of thing at google.com.
