Glovebox woes.... 850 1994

Having done a post-mortem on my faulty glove box (after literally tearing the door off), I discovered that the shaft the handle/pull turns to disengage the lock (sorry not very clear) had turned past the point so it was no longer functional. If you can hacksaw through the retaining clip, you should be able to unscrew the back of the door (the part with the "cup-holders") from the exterior/front. Then you can move the shaft that does all the work back into a working position. Should be a lot cheaper than my neanderthal method. If you can just get the damn thing open! If this isn't clear after you see the mechanism, I can try to explain better. Good-luck.
