CD Changer 850 1993

I went looking around to many shops and chain stores like Circuit City and Best Buy to look for a CD Changer for my 850 Volvo, I would like one that will hook into my stock head unit, but I was turned down buy every store saying they couldn't do it, saying either that they didn't have the Changer that would fit my car or theys said it doesn't work and that I will have to go the Volvo dealer to get one. Can this be done w/o going to the Volvo dealer and paying over $600 to get a CD Changer?
