Hello Jorgen

I have a 96 which shifts hard too; sometimes. I did the flush and fill thing at 100,000km myself, using just regular ATF. That was the cure for a while, until it starting shifting hard again. Gave it another flush and fill, this time using part Amsoil and part regular ATF; this was a big improvement. Now, some 5000km since the the last F&F I have noticed it starting to shift hard once again.

Over the past few months several transmisission articles have appeared on the Brick Board. I recall one which made reference to a "PNP" switch; that will be my next course of action if the hard shifting, (sometimes) persists.

Try the flush and fill with synthetic, or part if $$ will permit.

The excellent reply from Jason D. covers a lot of the bases.
