1998 S70 won't start S70 1998

Here's the problem. The car would not start on Jan. 2, but the electric items worked--radio, lights, etc. I replaced the battery, and it worked fine for a day. Now it won't start, the electric items work, but I don't hear any
'clicking' sound when I try to start that would normally indicate a starter problem. The car is still under warranty--until March, but the closest dealership's (Jackson, MS--about 100 miles) first available time is 14th of January. These were abnormally cold days--about 20-5 degrees, but I don't think it should matter since I imagine Sweden gets quite cold. To make matters worse, I purchased the car a month ago (not from a Volvo dealer--only warranty was the balance of the manufacturer's) to replace my wife's totaled 940 (from which she walked awawy unscathed). Any suggestions?

Thank you much--
